Who We Are

The Citizens Against Puppy Mills is a grass roots organization founded in October of 2010 devoted to ending the existence of pet store puppies and puppy mills in the Western NY area and has grown to raise awareness about the horrible plight of puppy mill dogs wherever and whenever the need arises. Targets include Pet Stores, Internet sales, and mass commercial kennel breeders whose indifference to the cruelty inflicted on breeding dogs and their health and welfare is of zero to little consequence because of greed for profits placed far ahead of the breeding dogs' welfare.

The CAPM Mission

The mission of Citizens Against Puppy Mills (CAPM) is to educate and eradicate the existence of the inhumane mass dog breeding facilities commonly known as Puppy Mills and those pet stores and dog brokers who support their existence via retail pet store sales of puppies and the internet commerce of puppy mill sales. In addition. we strive to educate the public on the philosophy of "Adopt, Don't Shop" when it comes to adding a canine companion to one's family. Partnering with the Humane Society of the United States, we strive to educate the public about the horrors of Puppy Mills through aggressive awareness campaigns aimed at informing the public of the inhumanity of mass commercial breeding kennels and the suffering of the breeding dogs inherent to their inhumane operation.
